My Boss’s Wedding

It has been quite some time since I last spotted my boss. Fortunately, I’ve been seeing numerous news from her with the help of social networking sites nowadays. As I recall her, Sharon is the type of girl who would not want to be tied up to somebody as she is happy being free like a bird. All she could care for was to get through with the day’s work. She was the workaholic type for me, though. And when she plays, she is a playaholic since she knows how to party real hard. She loves grunge fashion and she loves rock music.

I really had a difficult time considering her as a manager. She was more like a buddy and a colleague I would see everyday at the office. At work, we weren’t permitted to surf the World Wide Web during work hours. And since she was my manager, I got away with it. I spent a number of hours surfing the internet, saving photographs of my personal favorite super heroes and then print them later on, in full color utilizing the company’s printer which was only a few meters away from me. She knew that and she let me get away with it. Certainly, I dearly loved her for that.

One day, she told me she was leaving because she didn’t like the way of the management. She said there was too much connivance and corruption going on in the office and she didn’t want any part of it. She hugged me and whispered in my ear to be careful with the people around me when she leaves because she won’t be there to protect me anymore. I cried and hugged her for the last time. And then she stepped into the elevator going down. That was the last time I ever saw her.

After several years, a lot of social networking sites have sprung up like mushrooms. Of course, I had to sign up with most of them because I was told that I’ll be able to trace and get in touch with old friends again once they sign up for it as well. And I wasn’t disappointed. I found Sharon in a very popular networking site. I immediately invited her to be in my friends list and she responded at once.

These days, we have already been chatting a lot with the help of the site’s instant messenger application and was I pleasantly surprised just now when she told me she is getting married tomorrow. She will become Mrs. Russ. She showed me their wedding rings via the images she uploaded. They’re like never-ending gold vines. Hers is a little one and a bigger one for her soon-to-be hubby. She showed me her husband’s gifts to her with their portraits attached to it plus the wedding gown for tomorrow’s event. It’s basically stunning. The dress sparkled like a diamond and has a number of gold beads sewn on to the base of the gown. She even showed me the cufflinks she’ll be giving to her groom as a gift. The cufflinks appeared like a couple of platinum disco balls.

She said she selected that design simply because they both love positive music and they both love to dance. I am just extremely happy for. She said we’ll see each other soon and she will introduce her husband, too. Even if I am unable to be at their wedding tomorrow, I am very honored to be one of the first ones to see her gown, their rings, the cufflinks and of course, the bride-to-be.

Uses For Glass Vases That Are Collecting Dust

If you have glass vases lying around the house just collecting mud and you don\’t recognize what to try to to with them apart from putting flowers in them you\’ll be able to use them for various alternative purposes. Regardless of what form or size the vases are they will still be used.

Glass vases are terribly versatile besides just using them for contemporary flowers and come back in handy around the house especially in the bathroom. If you have got some small vases you\’ll use them in the toilet to store your cotton balls and q-tips in. If you\’ve got a bigger additional sq. shaped vase you\’ll add some sea sand and organize some massive pebbles and shells forming a style which looks attractive.

Terribly giant vases can be used as a fruit bowl just add colourful fruit in like apples, oranges and any other fruit and place it on the counter for straightforward access. Smaller glass vases can be filled with glass marbles and placed round the home.

Take smaller oval vases and half fill them with water add some petals or flowers and then add some floating candles which can enhance any table setting. Another nice plan for tiny vases is to form some engaging gel candles which are quick and simple to make and will be used around the house to add that extra romantic warmth.

Another very nice plan for vases that now not have any use is to make candle bowls. You will want to get some wood glue and a few mulberry paper that comes in the foremost exquisite colors and a tiny tin of varnish. Take the mulberry paper and tear it up into smaller items once that\’s done glue them onto the vase and once it\’s dry varnish. Place some ocean sand at the bottom and place a candle in the middle. These are extremely engaging and eye catching.

Cooking with flowers means bouquets so good you can eat added to your meals. Edible flowers add a lot of beauty and flavour to any recipe. Using edible flowers are easy to incorporate into your favourite dishes such as soups, desserts, and even your main savoury dishes. Edible flowers can be pretty tasty treats.

Of course not all flowers are edible but there are a great many that are and they do make lovely additions to your cooking adding a decorative flair and taste. Soups are especially beautiful when there is an edible flower floating on top. Flowers are not just pretty but they do add nutrients to the food besides flavours. The next time you are planning a special meal remember to buy the edible flowers along with the ingredients to your recipes.

Try to find flowers that are organically grown. Ask your florist what they recommend and how they would suggest you use the flowers in your cooking. Always be sure to wash them carefully like you do with your vegetables that you cook.

In general, adding the sweeter flowers to your dishes is both easy and effective. These are petals of carnations, the blossoms of the apple or citrus fruit trees and violets. For any main dish recipe, you can use herbs and broccoli florets. The vegetable that have flowers that are good for eating are broccoli, male squash flowers, okra and arugula. The arugula blossoms have a horseradish kind of taste. The entire fennel plant is good for cooking with the tiny flowers much like aniseed and this pairs well with salmon.

Herbal flowers add freshness to your dishes. The leaves of the herbs are often used but some produce edible flowers like mint, dill, lavender, dandelion, basil, rosemary, sage, thyme and chives. Many of the flowers of the herbs can be preserved in oil for use in cooking. Lavender sugar is wonderful to sweeten jellies, cookies and making tea. The tiny buds of the rosemary are great on any meat dish or on salads. Dill flowers are good in omelettes and dandelion flowers are buttery smelling but like pepper when eaten. Chives have flowers that are crunchy and have a delicate onion flavor great for salads.

Edible flowers form the ornamental flower group are calendula, day lilies, pansies, hollyhock, impatiens, nasturtiums, violets, Bergamot, chamomile, tulips, scented geraniums and violas. These are all wonderful for cooking but the day lilies do have a laxative effect so caution needs to be taken.

The petals are good floating in soup or spicing up salads. Hollyhock flowers can be crystallized and used to garnish desserts. Rice dishes, omelettes, breads and souffles are even better with calendula. Nasturtiums have a peppery and sweet flavour good with cheese or guacamole. Day lilies have the flavor of asparagus and go will with soup or a stir-fry.

Edible flowers from trees include apple, hibiscus, honeysuckle, roses, lilacs, plum, pear, and peach. Rose petals can be crystallized and then made into jellies or jams. Of course, edible roses are wonderful for decorating cakes.
