Assemble Your Own Creative Wedding Favors

Monday, May 17th, 2010

Now that you’re engaged, you get to plan a perfect wedding. Save money at your reception by forming personalized and creative wedding favors. It is simple and fun, and the guests will enjoy receiving interesting and original gifts handmade by the wedding couple.

Give your guests the gift of music. Buy a pack of blank CDs and burn your favorite songs on to them. Add your own labels and you’re done! Remember to start the set list with the song from your first dance.

If friends know you as a “Foodie” give them a gift from your kitchen. Make a large batch of jam, preserves, herb infused olive oil, or salsa and can small portions into jars. Use labels and ribbons to decorate the jars. Guests will be sure to use the gift and remember your wedding with each yummy bite.

Try a tea themed favor. Shop thrift stores with your bridesmaids to find an eclectic mix of old teacups. Old cups in pretty patterns are surprisingly very cheap! Fill the cups with an interesting selection of tea bags and tie a pretty label on to the cup handle. These will make elegant and unique gifts.

For outdoorsy couples, make favors that are environmentally friendly. Using inexpensive or recycled fabric, such as burlap, you can make flower seed packets for guests to plant in their gardens. Seed blends of a single flower type or a wildflower mix are both good choices.

Alternatives to seed packets are small pots filled with bulbs or annual flowers. Use paint or ribbon to adorn the pots. Purchase six packs of annuals or bags of bulbs at a local nursery; gardening couples will enjoy making these favors!

Creative wedding favors are easy to prepare and fun to make. Your guests will really enjoy these gifts and remember your day with them. If you show your personality and interests through the type of favor you select, assembling them will be fun rather than “work.” Enjoy!

Wedding Theme Recommendations

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Getting married should not mean that you must stick with the conventional and traditional way. When I say getting married the traditional way, it is when you get married inside the church and anybody is all dressed up. We could all help to make our special day just one of the most remarkable weddings that our guests will ever attend and it shall be the talk of the town.

I believe just about every bride and groom wants to have the most of everything when they get married. That is why there isn’t a reason for couples to get all dressed up in suits, tuxedos, coats and the wedding gown when they can get married in their most relaxing clothes.

1. Getting married simply by the beach is just one of the famous weddings concepts that numerous girls usually are dreaming to have. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you can have the beach closed for your entire wedding. You can take the best spot of the beach where the shore line is long enough to be your aisle and where the waves don’t really crash. You don’t want your wedding to get washed out by the giant waves and end up getting a mouth to mouth resuscitation kiss instead.

2. A garden wedding is also just one of the greatest themes that modern couples happen to be having. It is not something new but the approach that’s being applied to this kind of theme in these days makes it more exceptional and elegant. You’ll be walking on flowers and grass lined with dandelions and as you approach the groom, flowers will likely be showered upon you. This also makes a superior venue for the wedding reception as well, following the wedding ceremony. You may serve your favorite salad and pasta and have anyone share the dance floor since it is practically limitless. Typically, garden weddings are open-air weddings. Thus, checking the weather forecast for the wedding day is one of the most essential tasks to do. You do not want rain to wreck this day.

3. Fairytale weddings are usually held in Disneyland. Here, you can easily dress up as Cinderella, Princess Aurora or even Snow White and get married by the ever recognized iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle with your dashing Prince Charming Groom, who is also dressed up as Prince Charming! Certainly, you cannot do anything with park visitors watching your wedding ceremony so you might just have to live with it. It’s really a park so there will probably be many folks who will be gate crashing your in wedding.

4. Want a snow wedding? It is unusual and it is fabulous to have bits of snow fall from the sky as you walk down the open-air aisle. This kind of wedding might require a bit more of planning simply because it could involve warmer clothes instead of a designer gown that could get ruined in the snow. However, it’s terrific to heat things up just when the surroundings tend to be getting cold. A sleigh pulled by reindeers will likely be you bridal car and if you would like to be a little naughtier, throw snow at the girls as opposed to the bouquet of flowers in the end ceremony. Keep it that way and your wedding will turn into a snowball fight. It may be fun but be careful because you don’t want to end up in the hospital.

Gizmos For Young Men

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

When I was little, I remember collecting buckets of Lego just to be capable of building replicas of my favorite autos, buildings, creatures and appliances you can see at home. It’s simply funny because right after I successfully build the replicas I want out of Lego, I have to break it apart so that I could build more out of the building blocks. I didn’t have much Lego back then so I didn’t have a choice but to take them down.

I continued playing with it until I was 15 years old. I was such a late bloomer with the latest games that time such as the SuperNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System). I only knew about the Lego and Family Computer because those were the toys that were made available to us as children. So our playmates would come over to our house and play with our Lego or play a Mario Brothers game in our handy family computer game console from Japan.

As I grew up, I still was not in a position to enjoy other toys that the other well off kids were getting to play with that time like scooters, in-line skates, skateboards and trampoline. But I had something that the majority of the kids in the neighborhood don’t own and they often came over to our house simply to pick me up to play. Certainly, bringing my BMX along with me was the highlight. When we all get to the park, each one takes turn to ride on my bike and in return, they offered me their particular in-line skates, skateboards and other imported toys that their parents had bought for them only to get a turn in riding my bike. I did enjoy their toys for a brief period of time but certainly, I was still a kid who wanted all the toys in the world.

That’s why right now that I am 28 years old, I can say that I am getting to enjoy almost all the latest gadgets that electronics manufacturers are coming up with on a regular basis to satiate the never ending thirst of gadget freaks like me. When the Xbox 360 came out, I was one of the first people in our neighborhood who owned one and I’m proud to say that it took quite a while for the next person to buy one like mine.

Then when the Ipod Touch arrived, I also grabbed one for myself. Same thing happened when the Iphone, Iphone 3g and also the Iphone 3gS became available, I was one of the first people to have one. I also possess the most excellent laptop I know I could afford that I use for gaming, for editing photographs and videos, a printer to print out all my work, a magnificent DSLR camera that makes me take professional snap shots that could give Nigel Barker a run for his funds. All these and I am still upgrading each and every stuff that I find in the market that suits my taste.

You see, it is certainly not too late to enjoy the stuff that we weren’t able to appreciate as kids provided that we work hard for it. I believe that hard-earned money is funds well-spent.

Wearing Only The Heart Of The Ocean

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

I don’t know a particular soul who does not know or hasn’t heard of the Heart Of The Ocean Diamond Necklace that Kate Winslet (Rose DeWitt Bukater/Rose Dawson) wore in the 2nd All-Time Worldwide Box office movie Titanic.

I have to admit that it took me three long months before I was able to see the movie after it started showing in the local theaters, This was due to the fact that everytime I tried to get a ticket for me and my pals, the theater’s tickets were all sold out for the entire week and it was a thing that I have by no chance experienced yet so I did not have the mind to acquire tickets at the very least 2 weeks ahead of time. A common routine for me and my buddies would be to go to the theater, buy tickets and go in to watch our selected movie. On the other hand, this movie experience was way different than what my friends and I have expected to happen.

Anyway, the highlight that everyone was waiting to see was when Rose asked Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) to draw her wearing only the Heart Of The Ocean Necklace and nothing else. Within the cinemas, you could hear everyone gasp to see an incredibly attractive young lady get undressed in front of a young boy, asking him to sketch her in the nude.

I mean who probably would not want that? So then it became a huge hit among girls to have a very good piece of necklace identical or something that resembles The Heart Of The Ocean as an important part of their jewelry. And needless to say, web auction sites had their own hype of the piece of gem. You can certainly guess that eBay was one of the first online auction websites to have a lot of web sellers auction at the least one replica of the blue diamond movie reproduction and until the present day, you would still see one amounting approximately $600 or a lot more. I instantly realized that the hype is not over yet when it’s been 13 years since it first arrived.

The last time I ran a research relating to the actual Heart Of The Ocean diamond, it was with Twentieth Century Fox’s movie archives. I’m uncertain if they’ve auctioned it off for a very good trigger or it still remains in their archives.

In weddings, the bride wearing a necklace that resembles The Heart Of The Ocean is probably the highlight of the entire ceremony. It is when she walks down the aisle very slowly on purpose so that everybody could take a good look at the necklace she’s wearing. I can’t imagine how long these brides would take to walk down the aisle. I could only feel for the poor groom who waits by the altar patiently as he watches his bride approach him so slowly. Anyway, it will surely make any wedding as memorable as the movie and as dramatic as Rose’s quest to find Jack. And by the way, don’t forget to play the theme song “My Heart Will Go On” to get that authentic Titanic feel, too.
