Dark Chocolate Happens To Be Healthier Option

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Ask anyone what their favorite guilty pleasure is, and the overwhelming response will be chocolate. We just can’t get enough of the stuff; milk, white, fruity, we love all of it. All we need now is a healthy chocolate do we can enjoy it without the guilt.

Well you probably didn’t know this but there is, and it still contains the good stuff such as the minerals and antioxidants. It doesn’t however, have all the bad stuff in it.

This is dark chocolate, which is basically chocolate without all the fattening ingredients such as milk solids and cocoa butter and a bucket load of sugar! There is a low fat, bitter chocolate which is even better for you, but there’s one thing that you should know.

This is a very strange fact; our body doesn’t see chocolate as a food. It’s just a carrier to bring all the sugars etc into our body which we them hang on to, dispelling the good stuff like the minerals without getting any benefit from them.

It’s a little known fact that dark chocolate has a very high iron content; so a perfect complement is food such a blueberries which are rich in vitamin C. This balances the nutrition and makes sure that your body absorbs the iron from the chocolate properly, and tastes delicious at the same time.

As dark chocolate contains a lot of iron, eating it with foods high in Vitamin C ensures that all the nutrients are absorbed and you get all the benefits. You have the best of both world here; you get all the iron, vitamins etc and it tastes absolutely gorgeous as well.

I used to work as a chocolatier, so you can imagine how much chocolate I used to eat! As I ate dark chocolate complimented with strawberries, blueberries, nuts etc I never put any weight on. A blood test also proved that I had the optimum level of minerals and vitamins in my system.

There is now no excuse for filling up on cheap and nasty milk chocolate which will just add pounds. A healthier bar of dark chocolate which has fruit and nuts in it will do the same job but without any weight gain.

One last thing, just because you know it’s healthier doesn’t mean you can pig out, be sensible!

In addition to chocolate, the author also frequently gives advice about metal roofing materials and metal roofing manufacturer.

Why You Must Floss Your Teeth

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

You may not be aware of this, but many dentists consider flossing your teeth to be almost as important as brushing them. It should always be included in your daily oral hygiene routine because it helps keep your mouth and gums healthy.

I hope that after reading this you’ll take the information on board and be inspired to floss regularly. Here’s a few reasons why you should, all of which are documented at this point in time. Therefore, they shouldn’t be taken lightly by any means.

Firstly, if foods are left in those hard to reach areas between your teeth, they lead to the formation of plaque. Regular flossing will prevent this and ensure your teeth stay plaque-free.

Plaque is bad for your health and spoils your looks because it discolors your teeth. You’ll keep plaque to a minimum and maintain a nice white smile if you floss every day .

You’ll have healthy gums if you floss, too. Problems such as gingivitis can be avoided by flossing your teeth every day. This is because when food is left on the teeth for a long time it causes gum irritation.

You can also keep bad breath to an absolute minimum by flossing daily. Think about food that’s been left lying around anywhere. Could you leave a piece of meat sitting in your kitchen for a few weeks? You know as well as I do that it would spoil and begin to smell horribly as it rots.

So why do that in your mouth? Because that’s just what you’re doing if you don’t floss!

Dental floss doesn’t cost too much, so you have no excuse not to get into this healthy habit straightaway. Floss frequently and with time you’re bound to reap the benefits.

Besides flossing, this author additionally regularly contributes articles on the natural gas generator and whole house generator.

Cookie Additions That People Adore

Friday, March 5th, 2010

If you or your family are bored with eating the same cookies why not try something a little different? Say goodbye to your Oatmeal and raisin or Chocolate Chip, not that I could ever give up the latter completely, and be a bit more inventive.

I’m also open to new ideas and suggestions though, and am willing to try anything. It’s only by mixing and matching and playing around that you can discover new delights.

I’ve been trying out some new cookies recently and I’m so glad that I did. I’m sharing a few of the best with you here. Give them a go and give your taste buds a treat.

The first new way I tried was to make my cookies from a cake mixture. They are really tasty, and you even get the authentic cracks in the cookies. The beauty of this is the variety of flavors you can buy a cake mix in.

Peanut butter dough makes delicious cookies, and to get extra flavor there’s a little trick I used right at the end. Once the cookies are ready, carefully create a hole inside each cookie. Into this hole pop a peanut buttercup, delicious!

One of my most successful experiments has been to create cookies using cranberries and white chocolate. These two flavors marry together very well and taste divine. The batch disappeared in no time, and I’m now getting requests to keep making them!

I’ve got one more idea for you today, and that is to add three favorites to the same mixture. First chocolate chips, then some cherries and finally butter toffee. These three flavors combine to create a cookie that everyone will want.

The great thing about baking cookies is that there are no rules. You may have some great ideas yourself, don’t keep them as ideas, give them a go. Try some of my ideas with some of your own, you should enjoy both making and eating cookies.

The writer additionally often writes on things like Samsung DLP televisions and rear projection televisions.
