My Boss’s Wedding

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

It has been quite some time since I last spotted my boss. Fortunately, I’ve been seeing numerous news from her with the help of social networking sites nowadays. As I recall her, Sharon is the type of girl who would not want to be tied up to somebody as she is happy being free like a bird. All she could care for was to get through with the day’s work. She was the workaholic type for me, though. And when she plays, she is a playaholic since she knows how to party real hard. She loves grunge fashion and she loves rock music.

I really had a difficult time considering her as a manager. She was more like a buddy and a colleague I would see everyday at the office. At work, we weren’t permitted to surf the World Wide Web during work hours. And since she was my manager, I got away with it. I spent a number of hours surfing the internet, saving photographs of my personal favorite super heroes and then print them later on, in full color utilizing the company’s printer which was only a few meters away from me. She knew that and she let me get away with it. Certainly, I dearly loved her for that.

One day, she told me she was leaving because she didn’t like the way of the management. She said there was too much connivance and corruption going on in the office and she didn’t want any part of it. She hugged me and whispered in my ear to be careful with the people around me when she leaves because she won’t be there to protect me anymore. I cried and hugged her for the last time. And then she stepped into the elevator going down. That was the last time I ever saw her.

After several years, a lot of social networking sites have sprung up like mushrooms. Of course, I had to sign up with most of them because I was told that I’ll be able to trace and get in touch with old friends again once they sign up for it as well. And I wasn’t disappointed. I found Sharon in a very popular networking site. I immediately invited her to be in my friends list and she responded at once.

These days, we have already been chatting a lot with the help of the site’s instant messenger application and was I pleasantly surprised just now when she told me she is getting married tomorrow. She will become Mrs. Russ. She showed me their wedding rings via the images she uploaded. They’re like never-ending gold vines. Hers is a little one and a bigger one for her soon-to-be hubby. She showed me her husband’s gifts to her with their portraits attached to it plus the wedding gown for tomorrow’s event. It’s basically stunning. The dress sparkled like a diamond and has a number of gold beads sewn on to the base of the gown. She even showed me the cufflinks she’ll be giving to her groom as a gift. The cufflinks appeared like a couple of platinum disco balls.

She said she selected that design simply because they both love positive music and they both love to dance. I am just extremely happy for. She said we’ll see each other soon and she will introduce her husband, too. Even if I am unable to be at their wedding tomorrow, I am very honored to be one of the first ones to see her gown, their rings, the cufflinks and of course, the bride-to-be.

Scrutinizing Millstone Coffee Pods In Advance Of Ordering

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Millstone Coffee Pods, a name you may not have heard of just yet, is one of the fastest rising names in coffee. There must be some good reason as to why they\’re becoming so popular, considering how many options there are, right? Since coffee pods can be pricey, trying by purchasing from a coffee pod retailer can end up costing you some unnecessary cash. Before you do that, read on to learn if Millstone Coffee Pods are likely to satisfy your needs.

What Company Produces Millstone Coffee Pods?

Millstone began as a company over 25 years ago in a small town in Washington. Ironically, even though they\’re currently well known for their single serve coffee pods, the company pioneered the selling of whole coffee beans straight to supermarkets. In 1996, Proctor and Gamble purchased much of the little company, with the remainder being retained by the founder in the form of Cascade Coffee Company. Proctor and Gamble then spun off The Folgers Coffee Company, including the names Millstone and Folgers. The Folgers Company and The J.M. Smucker Company merged later that same year.

Millstone Coffee Pods And My Coffee Pod Maker

Very few pod coffee makers should have any problem working with Millstone Coffee Pods. When you see coffee pods with the Home Cafe Coffee Pods label on them, you can consider them a generic coffee pod, and bet they\’ll fit in just about any coffee pod machine. Millstone pods are also reported to be a good fit with K-Cups machines using pod adapters. Be sure to wet your pod just before inserting it in the machine, as with all coffee pods, to get the best results.

What Can One Expect From The Millstone Label?

Though the Millstone name has seen more than its share of owners, they each seem to have made a real effort at keeping quality part of the brand. Even now, The J.M Smucker Company seems intent on Millstone being the gourmet coffee pods of their various lines. Although you may pay a bit more, you can generally expect Millstone coffee pods to provide an unusually rich and full taste. Many reviews pit them against Senseo coffee pods, since they fit in the Senseo machines, and Millstone is seen as the superior brand. Options include over 30 various flavors, decaf coffee pods included. Millstone currently does not produce ESE coffee pods, meaning you will need to look at other brands if you want to make espresso in a pod coffee maker.

Obtaining Millstone Coffee Pods

Remote, lower population areas will often have a hard time finding Millstone Coffee Pods. This is because remote areas are far less likely to purchase high end coffees, such as Millstone, so The J.M. Smucker Company avoids having them compete with the better known Folgers name. However, coffee pods are easy and cheap to ship, and you can find them at all sorts of online outlets.

Monday, February 8th, 2010

As an experiment, the next time you\’re out take a look around you to see if you spot anyone with an Ipod. I\’ll bet you do. You can find people of all ages using them in airport terminals, while shopping, in their cars, at the library, and many other places. Why are they so popular? Let\’s take a close look at Ipods and their features to help answer that.

The latest models are chock full of features. The original use was for storage and easy access of music libraries. This is still the most common use. With as much as 64 GB of storage, an iPod can hold up to 14,000 songs. Listeners can play continuously for up to 30 hours before charging the battery.

Another popular feature is photo storage. Up to 90,000 pictures can be stored on the disk drive. With one touch of the screen, a photo slide show can be brought up. Music could be added to accompany the music and make viewing more fun.

A great addition is wireless internet access and a built-in browser. Without needing a computer, users are able to check emails, pay bills and stay informed of any breaking news. They also have access to video websites and can email these to friends.

If watching movies or television shows is your thing, then have at it. Both can be downloaded and viewed on the Ipod. Moreover, thousands of different applications, games and even turn by turn directions can be acquired. Recording voice memos(or anything else for that matter)is yet another resource available.

The more we find out about iPods and their features, the more we realize why they are so adored. IPods are tailored by and for each individual user. That is why people love them so much. Maybe you will be the next proud iPod owner.

What Are Melitta Coffee Pods, And How Are They Different From Other Coffee Pods?

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Just like any other pods, Melitta coffee pods are just coffee grounds with small filters wrapped around them, designed for use in coffee pod brewers. There are a lot of different companies that produce coffee pods, and Melitta is one. Melitta also differentiates their pods a bit by calling them \”javapods\” instead of using the traditional name of \”coffee pod\”.

How Popular Are Melitta Coffee Pods?

From what I have seen, Melitta coffee pods are only second to the Senseo coffee pod. The difference between first and second place is rather large, though, as Senseo coffee pods are searched for about six times more than Melitta. Just after Melitta is Tassimo coffee pods, but those aren\’t really coffee pods at all, they\’re T-Discs and are exclusive to Tassimo\’s brewers. Anyway, I can safely say that Melitta coffee pods definitely hold a fairly steady second place to Senseo.

Can I Use Melitta Coffee Pods In My Pod Coffee Brewer?

The only answer to that is \”probably\”. There are some weirdos out there, but for the most part, most pods can fit into most pod coffee makers, with some exceptions. Melitta labels their javapods as \”Universal\”, which means that a coffee pod machine would have to be particularly odd for them not to fit. That being said, if you have ever had a pod not fit your pod coffee maker, then you\’ll probably want to stick with what currently works for you. Don\’t worry about the javapods name as far as fitting goes; it\’s just a name that Melitta uses to separate themselves from the pack. There are Melitta coffee pod machines on the market, but Melitta doesn\’t make them, just licenses the name for use. So, considering everything, there\’s no reason a Melitta pod wouldn\’t work in pretty much every brewer.

For What Reasons Would One Pick Melitta Coffee Pods Instead Of Other Brands?

Melitta\’s pods do come with a few advantages. Even though their pods will fit pretty much any coffee pod brewer, they contain more coffee in each pod than normal. This equates to a richer flavor as well as a stronger overall brew, which most people will prefer, though some might want to stay away from coffee that is stronger if they already twitch their way through the morning. Make a note of that: if you are wanting to try some new things, but also wanting to limit caffeine intake, then you will likely want to look at another brand. Another perk that Melitta coffee pods will give you is that they are wrapped separately in foil, which you would think would be the norm since the main draw of using the coffee pod is freshness, but this is not always so.

Does Melitta, Like Other Companies, Make Pods Other Than Coffee Pods?

As coffee pod machines, like traditional coffee brewers, are capable of making things aside from coffee, most pod makers also make things that are not coffee. Melitta does as well, making a few different tea blends. As with their coffee, the tea pods they make should fit with no problem in anything that brews coffee pods.

What Is A Coffee Pod Machine?

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

If you want to make coffee using a coffee pod, then you will need to use a coffee pod machine. Although the idea is new, the pieces are not, and coffee pods are actually just a small filter wrapped around just the right amount of coffee to make one cup.

So Why Should I Use A Coffee Pod Machine At Home?

Many people, especially high performance business types, live alone. They have no need for a coffee maker that makes four cups worth of coffee every time they fill it up and turn it on. This ends up being very wasteful, and sometimes expensive. For those who work from the home, this is especially true as they may end up brewing multiple batches of coffee every day as the day goes on because, although they brewed four cups worth earlier, that’s now stale. Coffee is always better when it’s fresh, after all. People with families can also benefit from using a coffee pod machine instead of a traditional coffee maker if they have multiple people in the house that like to drink coffee, but at different times of the day. Coffee brewed in the morning will not be any good for the spouse that works the night shift.

Would A Coffee Pod Machine Make Sense In The Office?

Most everyone assumes that single cup coffee makers wouldn’t really be useful in an office. When you make coffee in the office, people smell it and want it, so why not make a big pot, right? This leads many to believe the only way to to make coffee efficiently for the office is to use a regular old coffee maker. This, however, is not always true. How about if everyone in the office does not drink coffee, or maybe even if some need decaf? A ton of coffee gets poured down the sink when someone wants or needs a fresh pot. Much, of course, will depend on the size of the office, but single cups using coffee pods could actually end up being a lot more efficient.

A Coffee Pod Machine Provides Flavor Options To Each Individual Person

Every coffee drinker knows what they like. Even if there is a pot of coffee two cubes over, people will still be going up three floors for the machine that has what they want, whatever that may be. A coffee pod machine can give everyone exactly what they want, saving both people and the company valuable time.

Coffee Pod Machines Are Not As Expensive As You Might Think

Because they produce single cups of coffee, these machines are often assumed to be very expensive. However, that’s just not true. A cheap coffee pod machine is generally only slightly more expensive than a traditional coffee maker and, in situations where the waste is extreme, it just might pay for itself. If nothing else, most people will feel that it’s worth the extra cost just to have a fresh cup of coffee at any time.
