Dark Chocolate Happens To Be Healthier Option

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Ask anyone what their favorite guilty pleasure is, and the overwhelming response will be chocolate. We just can’t get enough of the stuff; milk, white, fruity, we love all of it. All we need now is a healthy chocolate do we can enjoy it without the guilt.

Well you probably didn’t know this but there is, and it still contains the good stuff such as the minerals and antioxidants. It doesn’t however, have all the bad stuff in it.

This is dark chocolate, which is basically chocolate without all the fattening ingredients such as milk solids and cocoa butter and a bucket load of sugar! There is a low fat, bitter chocolate which is even better for you, but there’s one thing that you should know.

This is a very strange fact; our body doesn’t see chocolate as a food. It’s just a carrier to bring all the sugars etc into our body which we them hang on to, dispelling the good stuff like the minerals without getting any benefit from them.

It’s a little known fact that dark chocolate has a very high iron content; so a perfect complement is food such a blueberries which are rich in vitamin C. This balances the nutrition and makes sure that your body absorbs the iron from the chocolate properly, and tastes delicious at the same time.

As dark chocolate contains a lot of iron, eating it with foods high in Vitamin C ensures that all the nutrients are absorbed and you get all the benefits. You have the best of both world here; you get all the iron, vitamins etc and it tastes absolutely gorgeous as well.

I used to work as a chocolatier, so you can imagine how much chocolate I used to eat! As I ate dark chocolate complimented with strawberries, blueberries, nuts etc I never put any weight on. A blood test also proved that I had the optimum level of minerals and vitamins in my system.

There is now no excuse for filling up on cheap and nasty milk chocolate which will just add pounds. A healthier bar of dark chocolate which has fruit and nuts in it will do the same job but without any weight gain.

One last thing, just because you know it’s healthier doesn’t mean you can pig out, be sensible!

In addition to chocolate, the author also frequently gives advice about metal roofing materials and metal roofing manufacturer.

Why You Must Floss Your Teeth

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

You may not be aware of this, but many dentists consider flossing your teeth to be almost as important as brushing them. It should always be included in your daily oral hygiene routine because it helps keep your mouth and gums healthy.

I hope that after reading this you’ll take the information on board and be inspired to floss regularly. Here’s a few reasons why you should, all of which are documented at this point in time. Therefore, they shouldn’t be taken lightly by any means.

Firstly, if foods are left in those hard to reach areas between your teeth, they lead to the formation of plaque. Regular flossing will prevent this and ensure your teeth stay plaque-free.

Plaque is bad for your health and spoils your looks because it discolors your teeth. You’ll keep plaque to a minimum and maintain a nice white smile if you floss every day .

You’ll have healthy gums if you floss, too. Problems such as gingivitis can be avoided by flossing your teeth every day. This is because when food is left on the teeth for a long time it causes gum irritation.

You can also keep bad breath to an absolute minimum by flossing daily. Think about food that’s been left lying around anywhere. Could you leave a piece of meat sitting in your kitchen for a few weeks? You know as well as I do that it would spoil and begin to smell horribly as it rots.

So why do that in your mouth? Because that’s just what you’re doing if you don’t floss!

Dental floss doesn’t cost too much, so you have no excuse not to get into this healthy habit straightaway. Floss frequently and with time you’re bound to reap the benefits.

Besides flossing, this author additionally regularly contributes articles on the natural gas generator and whole house generator.

Effective Weight Loss Strategies

Friday, March 5th, 2010

I’m very proud of myself, if you don’t mind me saying so, because I’ve lost 23 pounds in 5 months and I’m not close to giving up yet. It’s the most weight I’ve ever been able to lose and the longest time I’ve ever kept to one diet. I can’t believe I’ve made it this far and I have every intention to follow through on my success by losing even more weight.

What’s changed this time around is the fact that I feel so much healthier because of it. I’m sure I’m going to keep this regime up for a long time yet. I’d like to share with you a few dieting tips I’ve picked up on the way.

In the first place, on this diet I eat no artificial sugar whatsoever, and no cane sugar. The sugars that naturally occur in fruits and vegetables take their place.

The biggest thing for me to avoid is high fructose corn syrup, as many believe that this is a leading cause of weight gain and diabetes.

It’s quite surprising how many foods contain this artificial sweetener – even bread and ketchup do.

I’ve also been exercising very regularly. It took my body a little while to get used to it, but I’m now running 5 days per week and I’m trying to run faster and longer every week. This makes me feel great, and it obviously burns calories.

Thirdly, I’ve cut out all diet sodas from my diet. The more research I come across, the more I believe that these might still be a cause of weight gain, despite the fact that they have no calories.

Apparently, the chemicals these sodas contain trick your brain into thinking you’ve had sugar. Then, your body reacts in the same way it would if you had just taken in sugar. So, there’s no benefit. These days I prefer to quench my thirst with good old water.

The writer additionally regularly writes regarding shoe storage benches and under bed shoe storage solutions.
