Sun Country Airlines was created over 30 years ago by highly experienced aviation employees from Braniff Airlines. It was from that seemingly dark hour that they rose to the occasion by developing a regional carrier airline. They hung on as long as they could until the insanity of September 11th took over, and that forced them under a few months later. Fortunately, a few visionary investors provided the needed funds to give Sun Country Airlines another chance. If you compared Sun Country Airlines to other similar carriers, you would see distinctive qualities that would set it apart. Sun Country came into being after a large international airline ceased operations and closed its doors. In fact, many years later Sun Country had to cease all flights in late 2001. However, some people still believed in them, and these investors brought Sun Country back to life. However, once again, there were difficult times in the past several years, and as of December 2010 are in the early processes of bankruptcy reorganization.
